Meet Gorreth

  • Name: Kyomukama Gorreth

  • Personality: Kind-hearted, gentle smile, strong spirit

  • Dream: To become a teacher and inspire others

  • Challenge: Abandoned as a baby, growing up in deep poverty without parents

  • Need: A sponsor to secure her future — and even give her the gift of a birthday

Her Story

Gorreth’s life began with heartbreak. In 2011, when she was about 2 years old, she was abandoned. A casual laborer handed her to an elderly woman named Sarah, promising to return in two hours. He never did. From that day until now, no parent, no relative, no family has ever come back for her.

To this day, no one even knows Gorreth’s exact age or her birthdate. All we know is that she was around 2 years old when she was abandoned. Imagine growing up without ever knowing the day you were born — without the joy of a birthday celebration to remind you that you matter.

But here’s where you can step into her story:

By sponsoring Gorreth, you could be the one to give her a birthday. You can not only secure her future — but also gift her something she has never had before: a day to celebrate her life and remind her that she truly matters.

Growing Up in Struggle

Sarah, the elderly woman who rescued her, has no job. Her husband, who could have been the family’s strength, lost his sight and now depends on others for support.

Because of this, Gorreth has often had to shoulder adult burdens at a tender age. She works by cutting grass and selling it as plantation mulch to earn a little money for basic needs and school requirements.

Life has been incredibly hard, but Gorreth’s spirit remains unbroken. She is kind, determined, and full of hope for a better tomorrow.

Finding Hope at Youth With A Vision

In 2019, Gorreth was enrolled in our Feeding Program at Ssunga Centre. She arrived with hungry eyes and a timid smile, grateful for a warm plate of food. By 2021, Youth With A Vision welcomed her fully into our care.

Since then, we’ve been providing her with shelter, education, and love — and she is slowly learning what it means to belong.

Gorreth loves studying, and her dream is to become a teacher. She wants to stand in front of a classroom one day and inspire children the way she has been inspired — but without a sponsor, that dream is at risk.

What Sponsorship Means

To truly secure her future, Gorreth needs someone special. Someone who will say: “You are not forgotten. You matter. You belong.”

🌸Sponsorship means Gorreth will never again have to wonder if she will eat, stay in school, or have a safe place to call home.

🌸 Sponsorship means dignity, stability, and hope.

🌸 Sponsorship means she can finally celebrate a birthday — because someone cared enough to give her one.

Your monthly support could rewrite Gorreth’s story of abandonment into one of triumph and joy.
