A Future Engineer in Need of a Helping Hand
Erick is a calm, soft-spoken boy with a bright smile and an even brighter dream — to one day become an engineer. When he’s not helping at home, you’ll find him on the field, playing soccer with his friends, full of energy, laughter, and hope.
He lives with his elderly grandmother, a devoted peasant farmer who does her best to care for him with the little she has. Their love is strong, but life is hard.
Erick often walks to school barefoot, not because he wants to, but because his grandmother can’t afford even the most basic necessities — like a pair of shoes. He regularly misses school, not for lack of will, but because of unpaid fees and missing school supplies.
And yet, he keeps going.He keeps smiling.He keeps dreaming.
“I want to be an engineer so I can build better things for people — and take care of my grandmother,” he says.
