EDUCATION

We eliminate all the barriers to schooling and every year, hundreds of out-of-school children get the opportunity to be in school for the first time or to return to school with the support of Youth With A Vision.

We often go beyond enrolling children in school to ensuring we support their under-resourced schools with infrastructure, basic facilities, and teaching resources.

This has meant renovation of classrooms, provision of furniture, provision of facilities for rainwater harvesting, books for libraries and personal support to give hope of the future, and producing all-rounded individuals with skills to play a key role in their community.

Most of the local schools that provide low-cost education are often under-resourced and lack the infrastructure to serve the learners, especially from low-income backgrounds. So we partner with these local schools and enable them to put in place buildings and facilities for a conducive learning environment for learners from all walks of life.

When we build a classroom or a toilet for the school, it helps to subside on the tuition that children from youth With A Vision would have paid and it also helps children from other communities to access quality and affordable education without walking long distances in search of a low-cost education.

When children walk long distances for education, they face a lot of challenges including indulgence in early and unprotected sex which affects their health and torments their education career. So when we build a classroom or provide a toilet or a library, it means that the school gains the capacity to provide quality education, and children within that community will no longer walk longer distances and they will be safe from dangers associated with walking such distances.
